Lemon Sole Three Ways
Lemon sole is bang in season and makes a delicious lunch or supper. Cook whole or in fillets – just ask us to fillet it for you if your filleting skills are as yet undiscovered!
Here are three ways to cook lemon sole that will tickle your taste buds.
1. Lemon Sole Meuniere
It’s hard to beat this classic. Its unctuous lemon butter sauce punctuated by bursts of caper sharpness is the perfect foil to the delicate fish.
2. Lemon Sole on a bed of Mediterranean vegetables
While most recipes for lemon sole feature the classic flavours of lemon, butter and capers, this little fish can also take stronger accompaniments.
This Jamie Oliver recipe sees the fish baked whole with spring onions, garlic, tomatoes, black olives and fresh herbs. You bake the whole lot in one tray so there won’t even be much to wash up afterwards!
3. Crispy Lemon Sole with chilli, sesame and soy
If Asian flavours are more up your street, then this crispy lemon sole recipe from the BBC is for you.
Fry the fish so it's lovely and crisp and serve with black sesame seeds, garlic, ginger, red and green chilli, soy sauce, sesame oil and a touch of mustard. Yum!
